About DeadKnight

Hi. My name is GnomeGrrl, and I’m a WoW addict.

Well, not so much an addict anymore, but I am still an avid player, a casual raider, guild leader and one of those supposedly mythical (but actually very common) female gamers.

I bought myself the game on a whim and for my birthday and within a week, my husband and sons all had their own accounts. We’ve been playing (mostly) together for over 5 years.

Yeah. I never could have anything to myself.

I’m also an Altoholic. Non-recovering, thank you very much.

My main character (currently) is a draenei shaman. She’s supposedly elemental but spends most of her time in her secondary spec, restoration. I don’t mind. I’ve played a healer for 99.9% of my gaming life, so I’m well used to it.

I also have a level 80 draenei priest (what can I say? I like a bit of tail), an 80 blood elf mage (my walk on the wild side) as well as a blood elf hunter, blood elf priest, human death knight and tauren druid in their 70′s, a draenei paladin in her 60′s, and a baby night elf rogue, languishing in her 20′s baby orc warlock.

You’ll notice there’s no gnomes in there. That’s because the “Gnome” in “GnomeGrrl” is actually a linux reference.

Yes, I’m also an inhabitant of the geekery.

There’s something else you should know about me.

As mentioned, I’m mostly a casual gamer, and the guild leader of a fantastic bunch of like-minded casual gamers. Like all guilds, we have our ups and downs, but we’ve stuck together because we’re not too serious about everything. Family, work and other real-life commitments come first.

Because of that, I’m not a number cruncher. I pay attention, sure. I’ll even direct you to people who do it and who are good at doing it. But you won’t get all that mumbo-jumbo from me – unless you consider moaning about guild-mates, lewt whores, leveling drama and general asshattery to be mumbo-jumbo, that is.

What’s up with the DeadKnight Thing?

When I purchased that domain name, I intended to blog about my experiences with my Death Knight, Novela. Unfortunately, her name turned out to be prophetic and she really was a short story (languishing around level 72 now deleted), but I will continue to use the domain name until I either get very sick of it or somebody offers to buy it from me.
